  • PROJECT MONITORING AND EVALUATION (M&E) ASSISTANT

Currently, the UNDP Islamabad is seeking a Project Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant employee.

Duties and Responsibilities: Project Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant
The M&E Assistant will be responsible for the following key functions and tasks:
  1. Provide support in the implementation of GLOF-II project Monitoring and Evaluation mechanism,  ensuring gender inclusive data collection.
  2. Plan and conduct regular visits to project sites in GB and KP to monitor project’s progress against set of indicators and collect relevant field data on pre-defined project templates for activities, including Early Warning System, small-scale infrastructure, irrigation channels, slope stabilization through bio-engineering techniques, CBDRMC rehabilitation centers, safe havens.
  3. Keep track of all ongoing/completed/planned project activities to ensure consistency with project implementation timelines through regular liaison with project teams and monthly M&E meetings.
  4. Coordinate with project provincial teams for monthly reporting on progress of project activities on pre-defined project templates.
  5. Assist the National Project Manager (NPM) and M&E officer in preparation of project presentations for progress review meetings and Project Steering Committee Meetings.
  6. Assist in quality assurance of different project documents, checklists and trackers submitted by provincial project teams, and ensure cost comparisons for all activities is done and any cost escalations are recorded and reported to the NPM and M&E officer.
  7. Maintain repository and update online platforms (UNDP SharePoint) for all relevant project documentation, including construction activities design vetting/sign-off reports, ESMPs, Gantt charts for infrastructure activities, field visit reports etc.
  8. Assist in monitoring project risks and implementation of risk mitigation measures on monthly basis and updating newly identified risks in the project risk register.
  9. Ensure quality of on-going works and report to the NPM and M&E Officer on issues identified.
  10. Identify and document success stories, achievements and lessons learned and ensure continuous knowledge sharing across project offices.
  11. Support in the implementation of online Project Management Information System through regular data reporting.
  12. Assist in completion of UNDP Quality assurance documentation, including HACT assessment risks, Social Environment Screening Procedure (SESP), Project Quality Assurance (PQA) and any ad hoc templates and documentation requested by UNDP Management Support Unit (MSU) and Resilience, Environment and Climate Change Unit (RECCU).
  13. Assist project team in conducting project steering committee, working group and other meetings through organization of meeting and recording of minutes.
  14. Coordinate with project team including project engineers to ensure completion of documents prior to and during construction works, including construction works vetting/sign-off reports, ESMP checklists, land handover documents, change o and other relevant documents.
  15. Develop and properly maintain change orders log with the prior approval of NPM.
  16. Assist in keeping project information updated on UNDP systems, including Quantum.
  17. Any other relevant task assigned by the project team
