JOB Description: IT Assistant
Organizational Context and Scope :

Under and the direct supervision of the Chief Migration Health Physician and overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in coordination with the mission IT Officer in IOM Islamabad the incumbent will be responsible for the technical support of clinical assessment of the UK visa applicants, which will be conducted in the framework of the United Kingdom Tuberculosis Detection Program. He/she will:
- Ensure proper implementation of ICT polices, guidelines and standard in IOM Pakistan and work towards adherence to ICT strategy, to reach better efficiency.
- Provide professional IT skills for smooth running of all aspects of the IT network and systems in their respective IOM MHAC facility.
- Provide support for planned technology upgrades for network, systems, and applications; including laptop/desktop/servers and WAN/LAN; maintain and ensure availability and capacity of existing network, systems and applications (core services) in coordination with the mission IT Officer and/or Global User Support
- Perform regular maintenance and operation of the networks and database systems in coordination with IT Officer of the mission.
- Be responsible for all the IT related problems, troubleshooting and timely reporting it to the mission’s IT Officer.
- Conduct on-job training to the newly recruited staff on the usage of the MHD database software/apps, UKTB-GS.
- Assist in registering the applicants in the database and make appointments when workload increased at MHAC.
- Ensure the safe storage of the data according to ICT standard in coordination with the mission’s IT Officer.
- Ensure that the IT related equipment are not misused, and standard safety procedures are practiced while using them and according to IOM ICT standards.
- Perform statistical data analysis to produce reports for internal & external use. Prepare presentation and draft documents for MHAC when needed.
- Support in documentation of MHD Pakistan ISO 9001-2008 certificate. Prepare and compile all ISO 901-2008 document master file according to ISO standards
- Perform monitoring of systems, network (LAN, WAN), applications and provide routine IT support for MHAC database. Administer and monitor the telephone IP systems, PABX and security systems.
- Routine problem solving, support and assistance for use of office technology. Develop where necessary and provide training to staff/users to ensure productive use of existing, new systems and ICT tools and applications.
- Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation and reference materials for planned and delivered user and technical services when assigned.
- Perform such other duties and functions as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or the CoM or by mission’s IT Officer on technical ground.
