Currently, the UNFPA Peshawar is seeking for Programme Coordinator to fill their vacant position
JOB Description: Programme Coordinator
“Programme and management
- Manage the provincial resources programmatically and operationally.
- Coordinate engagement with the provincial government in UNFPA mandate areas.
- In consultation with partners and thematic leads, coordinate the development annual work plans for the province and oversee their quality and timely implementation.
- Fulfill duties of the provincial team in contributing to national efforts led by the head office in Islamabad.
- Ensure integration of SRH, AY, GBV and Population issues in provincial development programming.
- Ensure UNFPA is represented in provincial platforms and coordination mechanisms including in humanitarian contexts.
- Ensure adherence to UNFPA guidelines, policies, standards, tools and systems as applicable
- Ensure periodic review of program and financial progress, recommend programme adjustments and reporting.
- Provide periodic updates to the Senior Management of the Head Office in Islamabad on the overall contexts in the province.
- Prepare/ contribute to briefing notes, programme updates and donor reports of the province.
Partnerships and advocacy
- Obtain technical support and guidance from the Head Office in Islamabad and support/ undertake policy advocacy dialogues in the province .
- Scan development contexts in the province, and contribute to resource mobilization efforts of the Head Office including for domestic financing for UNFPA mandate areas.
- Ensure effective coordination with implementing partners, development partners, UN agencies, CSOs and others to advance UNFPA mandate.
- Explore and conceptualize areas of interagency collaboration in the province, and contribute to development and implementation of joint programmes.
- Maintain continuous internal and external flow of information with the Islamabad Head Office, implementing partners, government, civil society organizations, and development partners/ donors in the province.
- Under the guidance of the UNFPA Representative and in consultation with Communications Team, coordinate/ arrange for the engagement of the Representative with local media to promote UNFPA mandate in the province.
Management of resources
- Under the guidance of International Programme Coordinator, supervise the team in the province on day-to-day matters for the delivery of programme and compliance with performance management and evaluation guidelines.
- Ensure compliance of the provincial team with corporate matters such as including PSEA, code of conduct, upholding ethical behaviour etc.
- In coordination with Security Analyst, support ensuring adherence to the safety and security guidelines by staff/ personnel and the security of office premises and assets.
- Exhibit and promote a culture of high performance through team-building, capacity building of staff, staff motivation and persuasive communication.
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by the UNFPA Representative and International Programme Coordinator.”
