Currently, the Mercy Corps International Islamabad is seeking a Coordinator Diagnostic employee.

JOB Description: Coordinator Diagnostic

General Position Summary

The Diagnostic Coordinator will provide support to the Sr. Program Manager as well as the sub-recipients in the expansion of diagnostic network through the establishment of Xpert testing sites component with the close coordination of National & Provincial TB Control Programs. S/he will provide technical backstopping in this regard. S/he will also be responsible for the development of technical content aligned with the National Guidelines for the smooth execution of the functioning of established diagnostic sites. S/he will support the collection, development, and dissemination of best practices and lessons learned and participate in technical discussions with stakeholders.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and provide technical backstopping to diagnostic component of the TB Program
  • Develop/update operational and technical guidelines, briefs, presentations, and other related documents and materials for diagnostic components.
  • Develop and submit monthly work plan for diagnostic component and individual team members
  • Work closely with Sub-recipients (SRs) for the selection of health facilities for the establishment Xpert sites as per the selection criteria.
  • Collect, develop, and disseminate case studies, best practices, and lessons learned from the diagnostic intervention.
  • Work closely with the finance team to review the monthly budget vs. the actual analysis of the diagnostic component.
  • Work closely with the operations team for timely procurement and distribution of cartridges & PPEs and other supplies to SRs.
  • Coordinate with Cepheid (vendor for Xeprt sites) for timely calibration of Xeprt sites and other related matters
  • Provide technical support to MC Lahore, Quetta, and Hyderabad Offices in the implementation of diagnostic component
  • Support Sr. Program Manager in the development of innovative approaches and strategies for TB program
  • Participate in weekly and quarterly program review meetings and share findings and recommendations related to ECF and new initiatives.
  • Participate in the design of studies, assessments, reviews and evaluations of program activities.
  • Advise and supervise record keeping/documentation as per MC/donor guidelines.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with SRs to share progress, issues and way forward and present summary of meetings to Sr. Program Manager and other relevant team members.
  • Review the progress of onboard labs &  Xpert sites with SRs, and develop action plans to improve the low-performing health facilities and sites
  • Conduct monthly analysis of facility and site-wise data, identify issues and make recommendations.
  • Make periodic field visits to assess the quality of the interventions and make recommendations accordingly.
  • Represent the organization at technical discussions and meetings both internal and external.
  • Participate in inter-provincial meetings organized by National TB Control Program
  • Participate in meetings organized by Provincial TB Control Programs as and when required.
  • Facilitate external visits by Local Fund Agent (LFA), WHO and others as and when required.
  • Conduct annual appraisals and provide constructive feedback to the team to improve their performance.
  • Conduct trainings and refresher of Xpert Testing Incharge and lab technicians as per agreed targets with the donor.
  • Support the Sr. Program Manager in planning and implementation of the training and capacity building activities for Mercy Corps’ TB program team and implementing partners.
