Summary of position: Supervising the daily logistics activities and providing maintenance to the MSF equipment, facilities, and infrastructures, according to MSF standards and protocols in order to maintain the facilities in perfect condition and collaborate in the development of the mission
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Supervision:
Supervise Specialised Technician, head watchmen/watchmen, drivers, daily workers
Instruct the specialized Technician of basic repair required and /or contracts- out the repair and proper follow-up
Prepare leave plan for all staff under his supervision
Prepare work schedule of the guards, and drivers and closely supervise and monitor the activities of Specialized Technicians including the evaluation and ensuring good implementation of their job descriptions With the supervisor’s recommendations, organize security briefings/training of the staff under supervision.
Prepare contracts or worksheets for any outsourced work and forward it to the Logistics manager and when necessary to the PC for approval before any work commences.
Office, Guest Houses, and Medical Facilities
Responsible in collaboration with specialized technicians for the good maintenance of the MSF-H office, guesthouse, and medical facilities. This includes the buildings themselves, materials, and equipment
Do daily visits at all the facilities and follow up closely on requests done in the maintenance and repair books.
Assign and supervise basic maintenance and improvement of all coordination base facilities.
Energy
Responsible for follow-up on all electrical installation, maintenance, and repair works and report to Log manager or PC.
Ensure good use and handling of all electrical equipment and generators in all the houses.
Ensure periodic maintenance schedules for MSF-H generators are respected.
To train the guards (Old & New) on the operation of the generator.
Ensure water facilities are maintained and cleaned regularly.
Ensures that the necessary repairs are carried out in the event of a fault on the generators.
Biomed
Ensure proper maintenance of Biomed equipment in the project
In collaboration with Biomed specialists followup reports and periodic service of Biomed equipments is conducted on time
Implement and endorse MSFH Biomed (MSF-OCA and Mission Specific) policy.
Advise on installation and repair on biomed-hardware in the mission.
Communicates and provides updates to the Logistics Manager, LogCo & Mission Biomed as is required.
Communicates and provides updates with the Project Logistics Manager on a regular basis.
Makes sure the storage of all biomedical documentation in the project is up to date.
Requests for specialized support when required (external company, Biomed referent Amsterdam). /contracts with external companies
Coordinates with Mission Biomed technician to keep updated on any new developments as concerns the project.
Ensure good management of cold chain equipment in the project. Implement and endorse cold chain policies and protocols in collaboration with the Supply log
Fleet Management
Ensure vehicles are feet and roadworthy all the time
Ensuring refueling procedures and schedules for vehicles and generators are respected.
In collaboration with the Logistics Manager and mission Mechanic, ensure maintenance of vehicles are done on time
Planning movements, tracking individual trips, and ensuring implementation of security measures
Tracking consumption of supplies (fuel, lubricants) used in different facilities (office, houses store etc)
In collaboration with Logistic Manager and Mission Technical Referent (MTR), responsible for ensuring timely renewal of vehicle fleet annual road tax registration and insurance.
Other: Ensure monthly reporting (vehicle/fuel/physical assets) and weekly meetings with his/her team and supervisors
