ICT ENGINEER
Currently, the Islamic Relief International Islamabad is seeking for ICT Engineer to fill their vacant position
JOB Description: ICT Engineer
Reporting to the Area ICT Infrastructure – Lead (AIIL) will work on the implementation of Tier II and Tier III offices around the world.
This role will liaise with technical representatives from supplier companies to achieve the project objectives by all technical works are completed correctly.
Responsibility for Resources:
Responsible for the management of ICT equipment at base location throughout the project lifecycle
Responsible for local procurement of additional goods and services needed throughout the project until handover can be completed.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The job holder is accountable for fulfilling his or her roles and responsibilities in line with Islamic values and principles of fairness, humanity, honesty, respect and fair treatment of his/her colleagues and staff.
Technical Delivery
Accept work packages from the AIIL for the technical delivery of the all aspects relating to the creation, configuration and implementation of Tier II and III offices around the world
Ensure technical documentation is created to the correct quality standard and to the correct specification
Ensure all technical documentation is filed in the configuration library for all work completed.
Be a technical escalation point for engineers and support staff in the region
Configure and install hardware and services where needed and as directed by line management
To actively create and contribute to knowledge bases and other such continuous learning mechanisms within the team.
To redirect or escalate support requests as appropriate
Develop alternative solutions and use creativity to solve problems.
Project delivery
Follow detailed plans and standards to build configurations for project tasks as appropriate
Take ownership of server configuration & build
Ensure project tasks are completed correctly and within allotted timescales.
Undertake such projects of a level commensurate with the responsibility of the post, as designated by line manager
Enlist the help of technical specialists to achieve the project objectives within the agreed timeframe.
Provide feedback and influence positive change in any GRA enhancements
Supplier Liaison
Research and identify suitable suppliers for successful completion of project tasks.
Assist in procurement of local or regional equipment and to provide advice for local regulations or requirements
Assist AIIL to ensure 3rd party service providers for connectivity and services provide solutions that are technically suitable vis-à-vis the global reference architecture.
Assist AIIL to develop a standard for internet and WAN connectivity ensuring consistency across locations where possible
Maintain adequate support agreements for appropriate hardware
Configuration Management
Ensure all projects are supported by adequate documentation including but not limited to technical diagrams, floor plans, configuration sheets and asset lists.
Create technical documentation as required and instructed by line management.
Assist AIIL to ensure all asset management practises are followed throughout the project lifecycle and assist with the transition to network support services
Assist AIIL to ensure all change is managed with a rollback plan and adequate contingencies
