The Community Mobilizer will mobilize communities to prevent and respond to Gender-Based Violence (GBV), promoting a culture of respect, equality, and human rights.

Functions
Key Role
- Mobilize communities to prevent GBV.
- Raise awareness on GBV issues.
- support GBV survivors.
- Strengthen community structures.
Community Mobilization
- Conduct community outreach and engagement.
- 2Organize community events, meetings, and campaigns.
- Build relationships with community leaders and stakeholders.
- Identify and engage local champions.
Awareness Raising
- Conduct GBV awareness sessions.
- Distribute GBV information materials.
- Use local media to disseminate GBV messages.
- Engage men and boys in GBV prevention.
Support to Survivors
- Provide emotional support to GBV survivors.
- Connect survivors to GBV services.
- Ensure confidentiality and safety.
- Accompany survivors to health facilities, police stations, or courts.
Community Structure Strengthening
- Establish community-based GBV committees.
- Strengthen existing community structures.
- Build capacity of community leaders.
- Promote community-led GBV initiatives.
Advocacy
- Advocate for GBV policy changes.
- Collaborate with local authorities.
- Engage with schools, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
- Document and report GBV incidents.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Track GBV incidents.
- Monitor program progress.
- Evaluate community engagement.
- Provide feedback to program management.
Any other duty/task assigned by the line manager.
Required Qualification and Experience
- Fresh BS Degree, diploma or equivalent.
- 6 months’ experience in community mobilization or GBV.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in rural/urban settings.
- Proficiency in local language(s).
