Currently, the UNV Karachi is now looking for WASH Officer to join their organization / team.
JOB Description: WASH Officer
The incumbent reports to the WASH and Climate Change Specialist working in close collaboration with the WASH Officers, Program Associate and Consultancies. The main responsibility of the UNV will be to help the WASH & CED team on climate change and climate resilient programme area, organizing youth climate action activities, climate risk assessments, developing various knowledge management products which include technical papers, Field Notes, climate and environment Case Studies to share the progress and impact of UNICEF supported climate change and environment projects with donors and stakeholders. The post will follow up on a number of programmatic responsibilities and provide support to both internal processes as well as external partnerships to contribute to the effective impolementation of UNICEF Pakistan Cliamate change and Environment programme.
Summary of Key Functions:
The UNV will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Support the implementation and monitoring of UNICEF Pakistan climate Change, environment and DRR strategy
- Support and coordinate with Partners and MOCC on organising Youth engagement and youth participation activities on Climate and environment
- Support and track climate and environment related work taking place across the different sections in UNICEF Pakistan.
- promote UNICEF Pakistan’s programme on climate and environment actions among different stakeholders in Pakistan focusing on youth climate activists, academia, and private sector
- To establish a network of contacts of youth activities, climate and environment entrepreneurs, innovators working on climate and environment issues in Pakistan
- Support on developing communication materials, information packages and presentations on WASH Climate and CED programme.
- Participate and provide secretarial support for UNICEF Pakistan Climate Change working Group meetings
- Assist in documenting and sharing lessons learned for UNICEF Pakistan Climate Change, Environment and DRR activities
- Assist the WASH and CED team in managing and reviewing deliverables of consultants, developing TORs and technical inputs to various internal and external reports.
- Assist in the on implementation of ongoing climate change programmes alongside participating in the formulation of new project proposals.
- Promote or advise local groups in participation of Government of Pakistan led climate and environment related initiatives like Clean Green Pakistan, Living Indus and other initiatives
· Write technical papers on the various WASH and CED projects implemented by the organization, including detailed descriptions of the projects, their impact on the target communities, and the technical details of the projects
· Using available research data collected by UNICEF through various studies, write research papers for submission to peer reviewed journals for publication
· Reviewing project documents, including project proposals, progress reports, and evaluation reports and document best practices and lessons learnt including recommendations for upscaling
· Conducting field visits to project sites to collect data and information on the projects for WASH knowledge generation, documentation and sharing
· Analyzing data and information to develop technical papers on the projects
